Terms and Conditions

1. Payment Processing

All transactions conducted through Bookit are processed via a secure third-party payment gateway. By initiating a booking, users consent to the payment gateway’s terms of service and privacy policy.  Vicinity shall not be held liable for any technical failures, transactional errors, or other issues caused directly by the payment gateway.

2. Transaction Security

The third-party payment gateway employed by Bookit incorporates robust security features including encryption protocols, fraud prevention mechanisms, and PCI-DSS compliance. While Bookit by Vicinity ensures the secure handling of payment data, any security breach or data lapse attributable to the payment gateway is outside Vicinity’s liability.

3. Payment Confirmation and Receipt

Upon successful payment, users will receive an automated confirmation email from Bookit . Any errors or concerns regarding the transaction must be reported within 24 hours. It is recommended that users retain the payment gateway’s receipt for reference and dispute resolution.

4. Cancellation and Refund Policy

All cancellations and refunds are governed by Bookit refund policy. Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method via the third-party payment gateway within 7–14 business days. Processing durations are subject to the policies of both the payment gateway and the user’s bank.

5. Dispute Resolution

In the event of any transaction-related disputes, users must first notify Bookit. Bookit will collaborate with the payment gateway to facilitate resolution. Users are required to provide full cooperation and relevant documentation to support the dispute investigation.

6. Fees and Charges

Additional fees or transaction charges may be applied by the third-party payment gateway, which will be transparently disclosed at checkout. Bookit  does not assume responsibility for any fee adjustments made by the gateway.

7. User Responsibilities

Users are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all payment and booking details submitted during the transaction.  Bookit will not be liable for any losses or booking failures resulting from user-provided inaccuracies.

8. Limitation of Liability – Payment Gateway

Bookit’s liability with respect to payment processing is strictly limited to facilitating communications and support between the user and the third-party payment gateway. Bookit  shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from payment-related issues.

9. Shared Property Bookings

Certain listings on Bookit  offer shared accommodations (e.g., individual rooms within an 8-bedroom estate). Availability, pricing, and terms of such bookings may vary based on the selected configuration. Users are advised to review specific terms associated with each unit before confirming a booking.

10. Pets Policy

Pets may be permitted at properties listed on Bookit , subject to the specific rules and approval of the property owner. Guests must confirm pet policies in advance and agree to adhere to all associated guidelines and restrictions. Non-compliance may result in cancellation or penalties.

11. Limitation of Liability – Guest Incidents & Property Use

Guests acknowledge and agree that Bookit  is solely a booking platform and assumes no liability in the following circumstances:

1. a) Any accidents, injuries, emergencies, or fatalities occurring due to fights, hazards, or negligence involving guests, caretakers, or third parties.
   b) Incidents arising from illegal or hazardous activities conducted by guests or their companions.
   c) Any criminal behavior, including harassment, abuse, theft, violent conduct, discrimination, drug use, or sexual misconduct, involving any party at the property.
   d) Structural deficiencies or maintenance issues at the property (e.g., cracks, leakage, malfunctioning equipment, pool issues, etc.).

Any claims for damages must be reported before checkout. Bookit will not entertain post-checkout claims. Where liability is found to be justified and attributable to Bookit , compensation shall not exceed the total booking amount paid. The final decision on such matters lies solely with Bookit .

12. Termination of Use

Bookit reserves the right to terminate any user’s account or access to the platform at its sole discretion, without prior notice, under the following conditions:

• Violation of these Terms and Conditions or the Privacy Policy
• Engagement in prohibited or abusive behavior
• Detection of fraudulent or unlawful activities

Such termination may involve immediate deactivation or deletion of user data and denial of future access. Bookit  assumes no obligation to provide notice or justification beyond what is stipulated here.

13. Amendments to Terms

Bookit  reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time, particularly to accommodate changes in legal requirements or third-party service provider policies. Substantial changes will be communicated to users and will take effect immediately upon publication.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from or in connection with payment processing or platform usage shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jaipur, Rajasthan.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and transacting on Bookit , users explicitly acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to all of the above Terms and Conditions.
